Having not heard the commentary but attended both games this weekend, my
impressions on the Maine team were:

That we actually are a better skating team than UNH. The Third period on
friday night we did start to tire. That I can't wait for Conklin to
graduate, he is the first goalie in a long time that I actually believe can
shut down Maine. That being said, as we have known all along, Maine has to
find someone to put the puck in the net! We are a very good hockey team,
skate well, check well, defend and goaltend well, we just don't finish!

With regards to the third period on saturday night I don't know if it was
more fatigue or frustration. Probably a combination of both. I had a
feeling that whomever scored the first goal on Saturday night, that team
would be the victor. I can tell you as a Maine fan I was becoming
increasingly frustrated by Conklin's save after save and once we fell
behind I'm sure as time went on in the game the players were too!

I still believe we have a team that contend for the National Championship,
but it has to start with having a breakout weekend to get our confidence
going. Hopefully BU this weekend will be that confidence boost the team
needs!

All in all, despite the Saturday result it was an enjoyable weekend of hockey!
