Some random thoughts/observations:

What a weekend!! Lots of honking on I-90 to and from Albany as Dan and I
passed several carloads of Maine fans. We were travelling alongside the BU
pep band for some time. We thought about trying to impede their journey,
but road rage is not our thing, and I didn't want to risk damage to my
parents' car.

I guess after so many years of driving to and from Maine, we're good judges
of how long it takes to get some place within the state. We predicted that
the bus would arrive back in Orono around 4:30.

A BIG ROUND OF APPLAUSE to the folks at Friends of Maine Hockey for
organizing the pre-game rally at Jillians. We took over the place, and it
was great. Most people stayed for the first part of the BU/SLU game, which
was broadcast on about at least twenty screens around the restaurant. It
was pretty scary though, when you looked around and all you could see was
Jack Parker's mug. That was me who started screaming, for those of you who
were there.

KUDOS to Chris White and the UMaine Pep Band who sounded awesome as usual.
I also thank you for not playing the same song at every stoppage in play.
After hearing the Michigan pep band play "The Victors" for the 10,000th
time, it got really annoying.

I'll be cheering extra loud at the North Dakota game so I can see Cory
Larose wear #39 one more time - I admire him for admitting his error
though. Most athletes will never admit when they make a mistake or commit
a penalty.

This morning I received a call from a co-worker who used to play hockey for
BU. He told me that he thought Maine played great, and was becoming a
Black Bear fan "for a week"

WATCH OUT PROVIDENCE, THE BLACK BEARS ARE BACK!!
