0 The group of people who will be inducted into the University of Maine
Sports Hall of Fame was announced today.  The group includes National
Hockey League superstar Paul Kariya, who won the Hobey Baker Award in
leading UMaine to its first hockey national championship in 1992-93.
Also to be inducted on Oct. 15 are: Rick Bernardo (baseball), Class of
'86; Fred Brice, the UMaine football coach from 1921-40; Bert Pratt
(tennis and basketball), Class of '43;  Carl Smith (football and
track), Class of '91; and Mary Lou Wintsel (field hockey), Class of'94.
