Some different thoughts..

What disturbed me more about this whole situation was NOT that Jake didn't
get the truck, it was the response of the crowd vs. the crowd in the game.
This crowd (on both nights) booed Dodge and the dealerships owner louder
than BU, or Jack Parker and were more emotional and vocal than any point on
Saturday. Sad. Granted, Maine was sleepwalking Saturday, but the crowd
wasn't behind the team like it was vs. UNH and BC when they needed them.

I'm not calling anyone a fair weather fan, I'm just observing. It is
simply a disappointing commentary on how our fans react to certain
situations. Sure, some felt Jake got screwed, but one could suggest Jack
Parker screwed Maine 100 times worse. Where were the chorus of boos for Jack?

Also, I heard from some knowledgable hockey people on Saturday that there
will be no more slapshot contest after this episode, can anyone confirm
this? Seems logical to me, though if we are going to play "hot and cold"
between periods, a) the person should actually be blindfolded so they can't
see and b) the fans should be instructed to yell "hot" and "cold" to make
it more clear for the participants. This game worked well at a women's
game earlier this year.
