Sigh!

It gets a bit frustrating when people take things out of context
or misinterpret them.

I am going to address a few emails that I received. At least 3
people have commented to me that Marsh was out of line. I do
NOT think Marsh was out of line.

My post asked questions and requested information. Coach Marsh
provided precisely the information I asked for.

He was not angry, nor defensive. He was very cordial. He was
very friendly. He took great pains to explain his position
on this issue.

I do not feel that anything Marsh did regarding the conversation
was out of line and I certainly appreciate his taking time out
of his schedule to contact me. Remember, all he did was simply
answer my request for information. Who better to get information
from in this issue, than Marsh himself?

On the other hand, I am sorry that Coach Morris apologized for
me. I do not feel that anything in my posting warranted an apology
Maybe, I should have made more clear my skepticism about the
allegations or at least done it in a way to suggest that I didn't
automatically think SLU was guilty.

EITHER WAY, my post was simply a request for information. I was
not intending to pass judgement. On the contrary, I could not
pass judgement UNTIL I received that information.

Dale Loudenbeck wrote, "Farnell [sic] assumed it to be true."

Mr Loudenbeck should get his facts correct. Ironic that
he assumed I thought it was true; he was the one making
the incorrect assumption, not me.

On the
contrary, I was quite skeptical of the rumor. I simply
brushed it aside as a reporter publishing any hint of
an alleged story that he could. Considering the fact
that the article contained no comment at all (not a single
comment, not 'no comment') from Coach Marsh and there
were no further followups in future editions of the Times.

I assumed the issue was dead, and that it was untrue.
Then I heard the promos for Marsh's radio show when they
promised he would address those rumors. I had an exam
during the show so I missed it. I SIMPLY MADE THE POST
TO SEE IF ANY OTHER HOCKEY-L'ers HAD HEARD THE SHOW AND
MARSH'S COMMENTS. THAT WAS THE SINGLE ONE AND ONLY
PURPOSE FOR MAKING THE POST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

IS THAT CLEAR? CAN I MAKE IT ANY CLEARER? HAVE I LEFT ANYTHING
UNCLEAR OR FOGGY?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I thank (and have already thanked) Coach Marsh for taking
the time to discuss this with me. He provided me with the
facts of the case, which is simply all I was looking for
in the first place.

I do not need anyone for me except myself. I am sorry ONLY
for the vague possibility that one could conceivably have
construed my first post as passing judgement. That was not
my intent. Other than that, i see nothing wrong with trying
to get more facts (something the Times didn't do) on a rumor
circulated by a local media outlet. Since when has learning
more about a case, been a bad thing?

Any personal comments should be directed at me since I've
signed off the list for break. I will almost definitely be
off the list until Jan 13 or so, although I might be back
earlier. I will answer all personal email as soon as I read it.
I will be leaving early tommorow morning so any email sent
me before 9 or so tommorow morning (12/18) will be answered
ASAP.

I did not mean to disparage the St Lawrence program. ON THE
CONTRARY, I WAS HOPING TO FIND MORE INFORMATION WHICH, IN
THIS CASE, PROVED THAT NEGATIVE RUMORS ABOUT THEM WERE IN
CORRECT!

JEEZ!!!!!!!!

BTW- Marsh said he liked the Twain quote in my sig. :)
