Obviously, I can't force others to agree with me that Brown is a pretty
good hockey team, nor can I prevent any hockey-l subscriber from
describing bad plays as "Brownish." I'd like, however, to contribute
the following FACTS about Brown:

Overall record: 16-11-3 (Home: 8-4-1; Away: 8-7-2)
Statistically, ranked 11th. in the nation and 5th. in the East,
behind Maine, Boston University, Harvard and Clarkson, but ahead of
RPI, Lowell and New Hampshire.

Since January: 13-5-2 (Home: 6-1-1; Away: 7-3-2)

Since February: 10-3-1 (Home: 5-1-1; Away: 6-1-0)

Last 12 games: 10-2-1 (Home: 5-1-1; Away: 5-1-0)

ECAC: 15-8-3 (Home: 8-3-1: Away: 7-5-2)

Congratulations to Clarkson University. Clarkson is a great hockey team.
I won't be surprised if Clarkson wins the national championship.

Congratulations to the ECAC for an entertainment and competitive
tournament. The ECAC is a FIRST-RATE hockey league.

Congratulations to Bob Gaudet and the Brown Bears. Just four
years ago Brown was the worst hockey team in the country. (Cornell and
Union fans, don't despair!)

Finally, congratulations to the Bowdoin College (my undergraduate Alma
Mater) Polar Bears for their sixth ECAC East (Division III) title.
