As well as the community understands the process, I tend to think that
it wouldn't be so bad for the committee to take a look at our discussion
in the days leading up to the selection.  It might give them some ideas.
For sure, we can muster a lot more minds who are interested in getting
the best possible seeding.  The alternative we got this year was a lot
of really odd decisions, some of which flew in the face of the
originally stated goal of keeping the highest ranked team within each
"band" as close to home as possible.

The seeding last year looked like it was done with a PWR ranking as
well.  I remember one or two key seed changes that indicated as much,
and thinking it bore watching this year.
