Ack!  Just say NO to non-zero-sum point systems.  How do you calculate
winning percentages when some games are worth two points and others
worth three?  And is a team's strength-of-schedule lower because they
play in a conference with a lot of ties?

One way of reducing the number of ties would be to play longer
overtimes in RS games, either 10 minutes with no resurfacing or haul
out the Zamboni and then play a single 20-minute period.
