Unless they've changed the format this year, everyone on the list is now
thoroughly confused. MSU is not playing at home!!! The 5 and 6 seeds are
sent to the OTHER region. If last year's format is still in play, the Spartans
are playing New Hampshire in Albany with the winner facing Harvard.
Northeastern plays Wisconsin in Albany with the winner facing Boston. Mass-
Lowell plays RPI, in Munn, with the winner going up against Minnesota. LSSU
faces off against Western with the winner facing michigan. This is how it was
bracketed last year. They may have changed.
If this is the case then the LSSU, WMU, michigan quarter shows the
committee's desire to avoid what happened 2 years ago when 3 CCHA teams made
the final four. Or perhaps it is their attempt to level the field and see if
they can help the eastern teams. The west has won 18 of the last 22. Whatever
is the case, putting 3 teams from the same league in the same quarter is dumb.
They've seen enough of each other for awhile.
If the format has changed, then I'm wrong and you can ignore all this.
