As I recall, bids for regionals (and Frozen Four, for that matter) each
come from an arena that partners with a host school. The hosting is
basically a bunch of work by the host school SID and a few others.
There is a bunch of paperwork and bunch of NCAA regulations to be
followed, otherwise I'd guess it isn't a lot different from what the SID
and others normally do. Not a bad trade to be guaranteed a spot close
to home, if they make the field?
