NEW YORK — The New York Rangers got minor-league center Cory Larose
from the Minnesota Wild for left wing Jay Henderson, whom they acquired
last month from Boston.

The 27-year-old Larose has 18 goals and 38 assists in 58 games for
Houston of the American Hockey League this season. He signed with the
Wild as a free agent in May 2000 and never has played a National Hockey
League game. The Rangers assigned him to Hartford, their AHL affiliate.

Henderson has 10 goals, 17 assists and 179 penalty minutes in 53 games
this season with Providence and Hartford of the AHL. A 12th-round draft
pick by Boston in 1997, he’s played 33 NHL games for the Bruins, with a
goal and three assists.

At 24-30-7-2, the Rangers are last in the Atlantic Division with 57
points, seven points behind Tampa Bay and the New York Islanders for
the final Eastern Conference playoff spot.
