Hey....
I read about the Jacob Fraser story in the BDN....
I think it's pretty slimy that they didn't give the
student the truck - I wonder if that rule has ever
been announced prior to this incident. I bet
they are going to announce it from now on....

For those who didn't hear.... This 19-year old
UMaine student nearly won a truck on Friday
night by shooting the puck through a little hole
in the board that is placed in front of one of the
goals. He actually got the puck through the hole
but the puck did not completely cross the line...
(it was supposedly and inch or two short).
The decision not to give him the truck was met
with much disapproval from those in attendance
but they didn't budge. They gave him a $50 JC
Penney gift certificate and a dinner for two at
Applebee's. However, the GM of the auto
dealership called Jacob the next day and gave him
a $1000 scholarship plus the chance to come back
Saturday and shoot at an open net for $1500 more
in scholarship money - and he was able to shoot
the puck into the empty net for $1500 more. At
least he got something substantial out of the
ordeal......

Thoughts?
