I never thought that joking about French wine and American cheese would
backfire into such a rhapsody of interesting messages! (including a
couple “off-list”)

Thank you Vonu, Rscheetz, Peterbi, Dirk, Tim, Pollet, Redman, Rscheetz,
Jjtlsa and Korg (Ez would have loved your e-names).

Thank you, also, Stephen Adams for recommending Leon Surette’s book,
Charles Moyer for the French lesson by Régis Debray, and Grace Davis for
mentioning Brunnenburg (I am planning to visit Mary this summer).

I also heard from my brother who called me from our small village of
Hardanges in [the original] Maine (near Normandy). He pretended he was
from the FBI, as a joke, but I told him that I may very well get such a
call some day, who knows? (The last time I “went through” U.S.
immigration I was told: “well, we will let you in, this time!”). As my
brother speaks Arabic fluently, they may call him first!

I am soon leaving for Paris, having to check on a few things there,
including a three hour radio program on Pound! And which is excellent,
according to my father, who was surprised to discover Pound’s French
background.

How brave of the French to "broadcast" three hours on Pound!

Marie-Noëlle
