MSL is delighted to announce that Valerie Osborne, current Director of
the Old Town Public Library, will assume the position of NMLD Consultant
starting full time on June 1, 2007. She will work part time on NMLD
issues starting May 1. Valerie's library-related experience includes:
11 years on the Maine Library Commission (two years as chair); Maine
Library Association President for two years; and service on the
Northeast District Executive Board for four years. She has also
testified before legislative committees on behalf of library
legislation. Valerie was honored by the MLA in 1993 as "Librarian of the
Year" and in 1996 for distinguished service and leadership to all Maine
libraries.
Her construction and grant writing experience, her work with children
and young adults, her in-depth knowledge of issues, challenges and
opportunities facing libraries in NMLD will make her a great asset to
the MSL/NMLD team. Welcome, Valerie!
