There will be some exciting additions to MARVEL starting in June and
July.

In June, EBSCO's Academic Search Complete and Business Source Complete
will replace the "Premier" databases. The new "Complete" collections
include many more scholarly and popular full text journals and other
types of publications, and index and abstract more content than the
"Premier".

In July, EBSCO's Literary Reference Center will be added. LRC is a
full-text database that provides information on thousands of authors and
their works across literary disciplines and timeframes. It has been
specifically designed for public libraries, secondary schools,
junior/community colleges, and undergraduate research. Literary
Reference Center contains full text for more than 34,000 plot summaries,
synopses and work overviews, nearly 100,000 articles/essays of literary
criticism, more than 179,000 author biographies (including more than
22,000 in-depth bios), 450 literary journals, more than 670,000 book
reviews, more than 73,000 classic and contemporary poems, more than
18,000 classic and contemporary short stories, more than 6,000 author
interviews, more than 8,200 classic texts and much more.
(Please note that Gale's Literature Resource Center will continue to be
available on MARVEL as well).

EBSCO's Points of View Reference Center is a full-text database designed
to provide students with a series of essays that present multiple sides
of a current issue. The database provides more than 270 topics, each
with an overview (objective background/description), point (argument),
counterpoint (opposing argument), and Critical Thinking Guide. Topics
covered include: affirmative action, cloning, DNA profiling, HIV/AIDS
status disclosure, immigration, Iraq, Israel & the Palestinians, Katrina
and FEMA response, nuclear proliferation, separation of church and
state, standardized testing, stem cell research, tax cuts, voting
machines, and many more.

EBSCO's Hobbies and Crafts Reference Center will be added, providing
full-text content for many of the most popular hobbies, crafts and
recreation activities today. Including full text for more than 960
magazines and books, as well as access to more than 720 videos and more
than 140 hobby profiles, this database offers detailed "how-to"
instructions and creative ideas to meet the interests of virtually every
hobby enthusiast. Subject areas include arts & crafts; collecting; games
& electronics; model building; home & leisure; needlework; outdoors &
nature; and scrapbooking & papercraft.

GeoRef will be moving to the EBSCO platform in July.
