I'll leave women's b-ball to someone else, but Kosty was here for *9*
years as head coach! Maybe that's not a career, but it was far more
than "gain some experience and move on". Speaking of contracts, Kosty
will double his salary and receive a *6* year contract at the US Naval
Academy! I expect he'll be away from home less than he was living in
the North Woods and commuting to most games. That's quite an opportunity.
Maybe UMaine coaches will be a little younger, will get paid
significantly less than at major colleges, and often not spend a
lifetime here. If you bring someone from elsewhere, doesn't it make
sense that s/he'll eventually find the grass is greener elsewhere? I
think UMaine coaches are in a good environment, or maybe they're allowed
to make their own good environment, but we're never going to have the
resourses to compete at I-A ... the money isn't in the State.
