All sorts of things are alive and well in this sense. Creationism,
evolutionary psychology, social darwinism, astrology, mental telepathy,
virulent racism, homophobia, misogyny, the death penalty, emptying 5
million year old aquifers under the great plains, casual bombing (by the
u.s.) of this, that, or the other defenseless people, etc etc etc.
