KENNEBUNK FREE LIBRARY
ANNOUNCES NEW LIBRARY DIRECTOR

The Board of Trustees of the Kennebunk Free Library (KFL) announces that Stephanie M. Limmer has been hired as the new Library Director. Ms. Limmer previously served as KFL's Director from 2003 to 2006.

The Board of Trustees began its search process for a new Director in late March 2008 by creating a Library Director Search Committee, Chaired by Andrew J. Golub, Dean of Library Services at the University of New England. After an extensive, nation-wide search, the choice was clear to the Search Committee and the Board.

"We received applications from candidates all over the United States," said Andrew Golub. Stephanie's outstanding history with the Library, her connection to the community and her excellent business and librarian credentials set her apart from other applicants. We are delighted Stephanie has accepted our offer to return to KFL and look forward to working with her again."

Ms. Limmer holds a Masters in Library and Information Studies from the State University of New York at Buffalo. In addition to her numerous years of experience as a librarian, she draws heavily on her business background, having worked for America Online and as the Director of Internet Sales and Marketing for medical publisher, Lippincott Williams & Wilkins.

As Library Director, Ms. Limmer is responsible for all aspects of the Library's management including personnel, policy and planning, budgeting, public relations, buildings and grounds, and collection development.

The Board of Trustees began its search for a new Director after Library Director Janet D. Cate decided to return to her previous position of Assistant Director and Head of Adult Services. Ms. Limmer, who had been hired in March as Interim Director, began in her position as the new Library Director on June 1, 2008.
