i wasn't on the goal line, but i don't think it would have counted
unless it hit the back of the net.. not only did the goal judge have a
poor angle of the puck (which was in midair), he was CERTAIN (because
of his intuition or e.s.p., i suppose) that it did not go in, and
signaled this repeatedly with his arms... grrrrrrrr... i guess the
home cookin down there is pretty good, 'cause that hold of niko's stick
as he tried to corral the puck (on the farside boards relative to the
maine fans section) right directly in front of benedetto that wasn't
called early in the third on our power play was absolutely
ridiculous... i don't put much stock in whining about the refs, but
that hold of the stick definitely erased a would-be shot on goal...
icing on the cake: gionta and a few other bc guys were there last
night... they must have been in their glory
