According to coach Walsh, it is possible that the three powers form
HockeyEast might end up in different brackets. Although he thinks it is much
too early to tell, he would love to see that happen with the likelihood that
all three would make it to Anaheim.
Consequently, it would mean one got shipped west, which has happened many
times.
In 94, Lowell had legitimate claims to #3 east and ended up with #3 west
(playing #6 west Michigan State on their home ice). They won and ended up
losing to #2 west Minnesota in double overtime while UNH was losing to
Harvard sending only BU to the FInal 4 from HockeyEast.
