I don't think it is that all surprising, given the (a) dilution of talent
(not a bad thing -- more college teams the merrier) and (b) emphasis on
defense over offense.

Would that college hockey would go back to the days of yesteryear where
coaches thought about ATTACKING rather than DEFENDING (see this year's
Boston Bruins for an example). However, since this crop of talent has been
taught from Mites that DEFENSE is important, it may take another 10 years or
so for wide open offense to return to college.

I am not advocating 12-10 games (I saw one once), but 8-10 goals or so a
game with 60 shots on net would be nice.
