The only argument I have is that the reasons everyone likes the NCAA
Basketball Tournament are the upsets. Plus by allowing teams who have no
chance at a title into the tournament, you virtually assure everyone who
does have a chance gets in. This is why no one complains when teams from
weaker basketball conferences don't make the field (they have no chance
anyway), but they yell alot in things like I-A football (where many teams
left out definatly have a chance).
Bigger isn't always better, but hockey can definatly support a bigger tourny.
