His train did jump the track of his thoughts with logic traveling in his
caboose (you know) !

What happened to sound thinking derived on conclusions based on valid fact. 

If ya know that loggerhead comes right before logic in the dictionary it
really helps to explain John's side of the argument— the dead wood side.

But, I think he looses all traction when he goes on about spawning and
barnyard animals...maybe he's in to cloning— thus the mention?

John just seems trackless.....perhaps derailed! Maybe John has just been
"working in the railroad all the livelong day" and is motion sick too!?
