Two comments:
 
I have been told by a former HE official:  For several years, HE rules have
stated handshakes only after Saturday game in two game series. (Do HE rules
pre-empt NCAA in this case?)
 
Although I didn't see this, I am told the booing was for Brian White being
"two handed" at the end of the game.  The crowd thought there should have
been a penalty called and expressed this by booing. This probably added to
the emotional ending to the game.  First time I have ever heard a Maine crowd
boo a team off the ice.
