Okay, folks! Line up for the newest game in town! See if you can spot the
inaccuracies and poor research in Deirdre Fleming's articles! The one who
can spot the most wins a weeks subscription to the BDN! Honestly, does the
woman think they are STUPID at UMaine? As if it is a new idea to have
Kariya's jersey retired!!!! DUH! IF she had done her homework, she would
have asked someone on that committee, (like Jack!), and known that Paul had
been considered but is not eligible due to the FACT that this extraordinary
player has NOT YET graduated!!!! He will eventually graduate, (as he
continues to take courses) and will probably at that time be honored by the
retirement of his jersey, and it will eventually hang in the Alfond. Once in
a great while I read the Deadly's sports page, and I seem to always run
across what passes for journalism! C'mon, Deirdre! If you are going to
write about what is arguably one of the premier programs in the nation,
please show some of the style and excellence we see on the ice! Betcha Larry
knew this little fact!

Segue to my next beef, which has irked many members of the FMH Board and is a
(seemingly) constant question of fans: Where are the retired jerseys? Why
aren't they hanging? It has been a question which the Athletic
Administration has tried to address (Do you think they may have other, more
important things to do?) but has not to date been able to find a spot for
them. Does anyone out there have any suggestions? As you walk around the
Alfond, look for a SECURE spot and post it here. Sue Tyler reads this, when
her computer is working, and may be able to use some of your ideas to help
facilitate this trivial, but somehow extremely contentious issue to a
satisfactory conclusion! It would make my games more enjoyable to hear
POSITIVE commentary about this issue!!

Segue to another concern! Both Sue Tyler's (MAC) and Jeanne Goss's (WINDOWS)
computers desperately need to be replaced. With the budget crunch, it is
imperative to SAVE money, but this is seriously affecting production for
these two extremely busy ladies. Any ideas or donations from the crowd?
