I found the following news quote on www.uscollegehockey.com pertaining to
Brendan Walshes' NC$$ appeal to play. I personally didn't expect anything
else.

10-29-97 Maine's Walsh Loses NCAA Appeal, Must Sit Out

Brendan Walsh, who transferred to Maine from Boston University, has lost
his NCAA appeal to waive the one-year waiting period before he can resume
play.

"He is not eligible," said Maine coach Shawn Walsh. "He's appealing it
privately, but
that's with his own lawyer. As far as the institution goes, the NCAA has
told us that his
situation did not warrant an exception."

The ruling means that he must wait until the 1998-99 season to play for the
Black Bears.
