The Maine women's ice hockey team beat #4 St. Lawrence on the road
Saturday afternoon by a 3-2 score. Meghan Aarts, who had a hat trick in
last weekend's game, scored the game-winner 6:09 into the third period.
Jarin Sjogren and and Andrea Keller also had goals for Maine. York, ME
native Amanda Cronin played in goal stopping 34 shots in the biggest win
of her career to date.

This marks the second win over a top-10 team this year for Maine. The
Black Bears beat Northeastern earlier this year who was ranked #8 at the
time.

Maine's record is now 12-12-1 overall and 7-11-1 in ECAC play. That is
good for 9th-place. Maine is 5 points out of a playoff spot, but hold 3
games in hand over 8th-place Niagara. Sunday's matchup against 11th-place
Cornell is key for the Black Bears. They cannot lose to teams behind them
in the standings if they hope to make the playoffs.

A great win and it is terrific to see how Maine is improving. This is
Maine's 3rd season in the ECAC and playing a Division I schedule.
