I must admit I am too bummed out to watch the rest of Thursdays game. (I
was at work when it was on). This season seemed to me to be one that
showed allot of growth and experience for this team. Guys that aren't
the regulars stepping up and showing why they are in Maine. The seniors
will definitely be missed next year as their abilities are tremendous to
watch. I took my boys to a few games in Boston and told them to watch
the passing play, and the fast breaks to learn. They sat with with
their eyes bugged out and mouths on the floor watching Barrett and Chris
play, phenomenal players they are. Marty has shown growth since Oct as
has everyone else. I commend Matt Yeats. I downed the goaltending
earlier this year as the thing that would keep them from providence, and
he proved me wrong. He showed the consistency that Alfie did during the
second half of 98, which means look out next year. So it becomes to say
thanks to this team. Without a doubt one of the finer teams Shawn and
Grant have brought out. I hope that next year we see the guys who have
already been signed to the NHL, playing in the white and blue. It blows
my mind what Maine fans have endured through media's and other avenues.
(I occasionally wear my away shirt at my sons learn to play hockey, and
caught a few comments like "cheater" in the local rink lobby). And as
easy as it would be to find another team we stay, devoted to the best
program in the country. It says alot for all the fans, the staff at UM
and the players. (I hope that the off season will continue to fill my
email box daily, thanks to all for the daily updates and color). Thanks
for a great ride!
