You seem to be suggesting otherwise, but if anything, that situation
reflects extremely well upon the Boston Globe. The Globe uncovered the
practice that the Boston public high schools apparently had of calling in
lower scores in very one-sided games, a practice that was sanctioned by the
schools but not well known. The Globe had sent a photographer to a game
and he/she reported a different score than the one that came in, and when
the paper pressed the (superintendent?) on the issue, the practice was not
only revealed, but the (superintendent?) said he supported it.

At that point the Globe told them they would stop printing *all* of their
scores if the schools would not guarantee to always report accurate
information, and the schools backed down.

The Globe apparently never knowingly reported inaccurate information and
when they became aware of what was happening, they reacted accordingly.
