ORONO, Maine -- In what Shawn Walsh called an "ugly game" the Maine
Black Bears moved to 2-1 on the young season with a 6-1 victory over
the St. Thomas Tommies, which included five power-play goals for the
Bears. Anders Lundback had a pair of goals, Adam Tate three assists.
Steve Kariya had a couple helpers as well.

Also of note, Marcus Gustafsson sat out with an ankle injury Thursday,
he is definately out for the weekend. Shawn Wansborough had his MRI
and has a torn ACL, he will be fitted for a brace Monday and may return
in the near future.

I also talked to Jason Price after the game and he was in some pain
with a hip pointer injury that he sustained during the game. I have no
more details than that and do not know if this is even serious enough
to keep him out of the game Saturday night.

Colorado College destroyed St. Lawrence 12-3 and #5 CC and #6 Maine
will face it off at 7 p.m. for the J.C. Penney Championship. Should be
an excellent game as both teams feature fast skating high flying
forwards.
