Here is the latest from the WTIO Men's Division 1 NCAA Hockey Poll:

the University of Maine is once again # 1, for the 19th consecutive week
this year, and has led this poll every year since 1977.

Of course, WTIO stands for: Which Team In Orono ? hehehehe

Any "subjective" voting poll is inherently suspect. Look at Div. 1 college
football and the use of voter polls toward BCS rankings for that point.

For those that don't know, in NCAA Div. 1 Hockey, the PWR rankings form the
basis of its post-season Tournament selection process. PWR is as objective
as any ranking used for any other of the college sports, and the
professional leagues, for that matter. While the Hockey committee "bonus"
adder is indeed subjective, the committee uses PWR in a more objective way
than do the other NCAA selection committees who incorporate the PWR in the
other sports, most notably the Basketball committee.

To shed light on this as we get closer to crunch time, follow this link:

One thing this year: Maine should be very grateful the Tournament is now 16
teams instead of 12.
