WATERVILLE — Dorothy "Bibby" Alfond, wife of Dexter Shoe Co. founder and
philanthropist Harold Alfond, died Saturday. She was 89. Friends and
relatives described Dorothy Alfond as a generous woman who both
supported her husband's charitable work and contributed to causes in her
own right.
