Regarding scheduling, if you look at the AP article that Bill posted
you see that Vermont would start HE play in 2005-2006, which leaves
time to try and add two more teams.
Joe Bertagna has long said publicly that he'd like 12 teams in Hockey
East. That would mean two games against each team for a 24-game league
schedule.
Also, keep in mind that our current schedule is not truly balanced.
Yes, each team plays each other 3 times, but consider that you play a
team twice at home and then once at home in alternating years. This
does create a balanced, but unequal 24 game league schedule. It's
worked for us, but I can see the logic in a 24 game schedule (12 teams)
were each team gets one home game and one road game against each team.
And you thought UNH and BU tickets were hard to come by this year!!!!
