"Weeks" seems like a long time, but any voting of this sort can cause
problems, especially when things are close.  Look around the press box
as the "Xyz Classic" nears end and see the worry on the SIDs face as he
must choose between deserving players for MVP or whatever ...  sometimes
before knowing who scores the winning goal!  For a while this year,
Maine had some sort of a player/performance recognition.  Because the
sponsor wanted to be heard by something other than an empty building, it
was announced with several minutes left in the game.  ...  OK, it is a
farce sometimes :)
 
At least HEA waited until the end of the regular season to *announce* it! :)
