The University of Maine women's ice hockey team is off to a 2-0 start with
a pair of wins at Colgate this weekend.

On Saturday, Maine beat the Red Raiders 6-2 with the line of Tristen
Desmet, Karen Droog and Andrea Steranko each registering 3 points each (2
goals for Droog). Dawn Froats had 23 saves in the win.

On Sunday, the Black Bears were victorious by a score of 5-1. Meghan Aarts
had 2 goals, while captain Kelly Nelson and Cheryl White each had two
assists. Amanda Cronin (senior, York, Maine) only had to make 15 saves to
backstop the victory.

Things will get tougher next weekend as Maine will host rival UNH for a
pair of games at Alfond Arena on Friday and Saturday.
