AMHERST, Mass. -- Maine freshman Cory Larose had two goals and two assists,
and classmate Ben Guite added three assists as Maine (19-10-1, 11-7-1 HE)
jumped out to leads of 4-0, 5-1 and 6-2 before setting the cruise control,
winning 6-4 over UMass (12-18, 7-14 HE) Friday night Feb. 14.

The win was Shawn Walsh's 299th of his career (including forfeits). Maine
has gone 10-3 since Walsh took over as coach on Christmas, and 12-3 since
the middle of December when Greg Cronin left for Team USA.

Maine and UMass will play again Saturday night in Amherst.
