I am from the east (central NY to be exact - no NYC accent).  I did notice during the regionals that it sounded like the announcers were saying Red Hots".

My seat up in Sec. 241 is far at one end.  I am looking at the end of the ice.  I am glad that I am up high enough so people's heads aren't in my way.  I do wish I was closer to the center.  The seeds are too far from the ice.  I think the rink seatimg in St. Louis and Denver was nice.

Bummer.  I hope I don't get flak from people who are defending First Nations or Native Americans rights to own their tribal names in terms of nicknames, but I rather liked the Sioux for bucking the NCAA and sticking by their rights.  I never saw anything wrong with the Miami Redmen, either.  BTW, for those of you who do not live back East, have you noticed how Eastern announcers tend to pronounce the Red Hawks to make them sound like "Red Hots?"  At least they aren't insisting that North Dakota change its State name.

It was decided yesterday from the Board of Education of North Dakota, that the University of North Dakota would "retire" the Fighting Sioux nickname and logo.

Melrose and Thorne actually announced this in the middle of the first game yesterday.

Wonder what the new name will be and how much it will cost to remove all those logos from the Ralph.
