On Sunday, Bemidji hosted St. Thomas in the second game of a two game
series. Bemidji was looking for their first sweep since the Air Force
series and St. Thomas was looking to go home with a win. In the end, St.
Thomas got their wish with a 4-3 OT victory.
Bemidji was hurt in the first period by turnovers that lead to two Tommie
goals. BSU would pull into a 2-2 tie in the second with a goal by Searles
on a delayed penalty and a wrap around goal by Stuart. St. Thomas would
force the Beavers to come from behind again in the third and Chartrand
would answer with a 5 on 3 power play goal.
In overtime, it looked as if the teams would finish with a tie until BSU
iced the puck with 5 seconds left. With the faceoff deep in the Beaver
end, the Tommies would win the draw a fire a shot through a screen that
would beat Pavlatos with two seconds remaining.
Bemidji is off this week and will play in the Air Force Tournament in
Colorado Springs on Dec. 11 and 12. They will open up with Bentley at 3:00
on Friday afternoon. The games can be heard via Real Audio at
