The Princeton Tigers, who will be at Colgate tuesday night, will be
slightly short-handed. Sophmore forward Keith Merkler went down with
a sprained knee ligament when he crashed into the boards in the second
period against Brown. Merkler, who had two goals friday night against
Yale, is listed as questionable for tuesday's game.
The loss that really hurts, though, is the loss of Freshman forward
Rob LaFerriere. With twelve seconds left in the Brown game, a fight
broke put and LaFerriere wound up with two majors and a game misconduct.
There is no excuse for this. LaFerriere (who is the Tigers leading goal
scorer and penalty minute leader) simply lost his head. The game was
already over at that point. I don't think he helped his chances for
ECAC rookie of year honors these actions.
The Tiger D played well this weekend. Mark Salsbury had forty saves
against Yale on Friday, including 23 in the second period.
