KENNEDY, MUZERALL SCORE TWICE AS GOPHERS WIN SEVENTH STRAIGHT
BEMIDJI, Minn. - Courtney Kennedy and Nadine Muzerall each scored a pair of
goals and Minnesota outshot Bemidji State 46-22 to post a 6-1 victory.
The Gophers sandwiched a pair of power-play goals, by Muzerall and Kennedy,
around the Beavers' lone first-period goal, an even-strength tally at 12:49
by Alicia Kinsman, to take a 2-1 lead after one period.
The lone goal of the second period came at 3:31 when Minnesota's Laura
Slominski tipped a shot from the right point by Tracy Palinsky.
Ambria Thomas made it 4-1 just 39 seconds into the third period, converting
Minnesota's third power play of the night. Kennedy and Muzerall then added
late breakaway goals to finish the scoring.
Erica Killewald stopped 21 shots to earn her 15th win of the season while
Bemdiji State's Anik Cote had 40 saves.
