According to the Saturday October 15th edition of the Cincinnati Enquirer,
"Senior defenseman Dan Daikawa, whom new Miami coach Mark Mazzoleni was
counting on heavily this season, will leave school next week to sign a contract
with a Japanese pro team, a Miami spokesperson said Friday."
This is bad news for the Redskins. Daikawa is going to be missed, although
Miami has some bright future stars who may have to play a little sooner than
expected.
Also noted in the article, Andrew Miller and Andrew Backen (both injured) may
be ready for the season opener. Freshman defenseman, Dan Boyle (injured)
should be back on Nov. 4.
Hope to have some better news next time!
