GOLDEN GOPHERS COLLAR BULLDOGS

Ambria Thomas finished with a hat-trick and two assists as third-ranked
Minnesota skated to an 8-0 win Saturday night over fourth-ranked
Minnesota-Duluth at Mariucci Arena.

The Gophers jumped to a 3-0 lead after the first period on two goals from
Thomas and Ronda Curtin's seventh goal of the season.

La Toya Clarke scored the lone goal of the second period, a power-play goal
at 14:45. Laura Slominski, who finished with a goal and three assists, set
up Clarke's fourth goal of the season.

Minnesota kept the Bulldogs on a short leash throughout the final two
periods, allowing just 12 shots on goal. The Gophers peppered UMD goaltender
Riana Burke with 45 shots.

Thomas scored her 10th goal of the season 19 seconds into the third period,
and Clarke followed with her second goal of the night at 6:26. Jerilyn Glenn
