"Only shadows enter my tent
as men pass between me and the sunset"
                                                                 Canto LXXX

Nikolay,
Very good comments - honestly felt- and with a magnanimity of spirit
often lacking these days especially here in a country still "bent
resolutely on wringing lilies from the acorn", where there are those who
continue to drag Ezra down into the hell of their confusion because they
resent his flight to the Elysium of Love and Beauty. But what a futile
inquisition they perpetuate on the dead poet.

"Nothing but death, said Turgenev (Tiresias) is irreparable." Canto
LXXX

And how sublime his words remain as antidote to their calculated calumny
chosen surreptitiously in defense of usury by usury's toadies with tenure.

    "And the russe
bringing all the "Smoke" of Turgenev
"Are" as Uncle William said "the daughters of Memory"
                                                                      Canto
95

"The more I read your poetry, the more I am convinced it is the best of
its time. And your economics are right. We see it more and more in Vietnam.
You showed us who's making a profit out of war" - Allen Ginsberg, "A
Conversation between Ezra Pound and Allen Ginsberg" (1968)
