 CANADA'S NATIONAL MEN'S TEAM
 SET FOR SPENGLER CUP IN DAVOS, SWITZERLAND

 CALGARY, AB -Canada's National Men's Team announced on Saturday the
roster that will be participating in the Spengler Cup in Davos, Switzerland
from December 26-31, 2000.

 Canada's roster includes NHL free agents Benoit Hogue (Répentigny,
QC), Grant Ledyard (Winnipeg, MB) Michael Peca (Toronto, ON).  Also, Calgary
Flames prospects Daniel Tkaczuk (Toronto, ON) and Mike Martin (Stratford,
ON) were loaned to the Canadian team, as was goaltender Marcel Cousineau
(Delson, QC) who is on loan to Team Canada from the Los Angeles Kings.

 Head Coach Wayne Fleming will lead Canada behind the bench for the
Spengler Cup, and will be joined by National Men's Team Associate
Coach/General Manager Mike Pelino.

 Pelino will assist media with any requests. He can be reached in
Switzerland at
 011 41 81 413 8181 for the duration of Canada's stay at the Spengler
Cup.

 Canada's National Men's Team, which was once run as a full-time
program from 1963-68 and 1983-2000, is currently operating on a 'part-time
basis'.

 Canada won the Deutschland Cup for the first time in November, 2000
and will participate Internationally in four more major competitions in
Europe during the season: The Spengler Cup, Sweden Games, Nagano Cup and
finally the IIHF Men's World Championship in Germany.

 Canada will put together separate rosters primarily comprised of
Canadian players that are playing overseas, or other designated
professionals players.
