Those people, including myself, that found the explanations a bit ...
er ...  brief, should take a look at this weeks Hockey East Preview

It appears the NCAA enforces its rules strictly, no matter how
reasonable, or unreasonable, they might be.  For those of us that
believe in college opportunities, these are sad stories indeed.  :-(
