John -- I understand your curiosity about general team news. What
constitutes General Team News?
Do people who don't live around here think that most people in the
Penobscot Valley know any more than is reported in the Bangor Daily
News? In all honesty, you can log onto their site each day and get as
much as the large majority of locals know about what is going on with
the team.
You ask for -- "A simple post about ..." WHAT "once or twice a week"?
If there is news, it is in the BDN or on local telecasts -- and even
that is not a daily occurrence. Most of what is reported is in the
form of game results and box scores, information that is available on a
number of websites, including that of the BDN. What would you seek in
"a simple post"?
Check some websites like MaineBeat.com and others. They are
scratching for topics to discuss from time to time. Maine Hockey is
not the hot topic of the day in this area every day, day after day.
People are not privy to personal news about the team, injury reports,
or other things like that. People don't hang out at practices hoping
to catch some anomaly about which they can speculate. "So-and-so left
the ice -- wonder what's wrong?" The next thing you know he has a
"serious injury" reported in some folder or on some board -- when in
actuality he popped a rivet on his skate and needed repairs.
John, if there is news -- someone will comment and post something.
When there isn't -- there just isn't any.
Nonni
