Northeastern Downs No. 1 Wisconsin in Overtime
Four Teams Notch First Conference Wins as Race Commences

Hockey East Rookie of the Week Scott Selig redirected a shot from the point
in overtime to give the host Huskies a 5-4 win over top-ranked Wisconsin
Saturday. Husky Mike Ryan scored two goals, and leads Hockey East with
seven on the season.

The win concluded a triumphant weekend for the Huskies, who opened
conference play with a 5-2 win at UMass Lowell on Friday. Junior centerman
Chris Lynch notched a hat trick in the victory. At the same time, senior

Second-year forward Krys Kolanos pitched in two goals and three assists in
the win. Added to his one-goal one-assist performance against Wisconsin in

conference opener for both teams. On the strength of two shutouts, the two
Friar stoppers have combined for a 3-0-1 record, a 1.22 GAA, and a .959
save percentage.

this weekend, following his latest round of immunotherapy. A 60-shot flurry
by the Black Bears was stifled by Ohio State goaltender Mike Betz, who led
a 3-2 overtime win at Maine on Friday. The Bears rebounded with a 2-0 win
in Saturday’s rematch, with junior Mike Morrison needing to register just
12 saves for the third shutout of his career.
