It's looking that way.

Great weekend - four really fun games to watch. Last
night the offense really turned it on ... and kept it
on. Way to keep the fans on their feet!! And the
defense that we depend on so much stood tall. After
Friday night, it also looks like Morrison will get the
nod more often.

Aside from two great games for Maine, I think one of
the highlights of the weekend was watching the USA
U-18 Development team. I'm glad our team did not
underestimate these 16 & 17 year old kids like MSU did
on 10/2. Man, they were downright fun to watch.
Extremely smooth & well practiced, lots of talant,
with the potential to strike at any sign of weakness.

Unfortunately, we also saw what will probably be the
cream of Jack Parker's 2001-2002 freshman class -
defensemen Bryan Miller (#88) and Ryan Whitney (#4)
along with forwards Justin Maiser (#26), Brian
McConnell (#9) and Ryan Murphy (#19) have all verbally
committed to BU.

I did get to talk to several of the USA players &
their families, one of whom had driven 20+ hours from
northern Minnesota. As with most hockey families,
really, really nice folks. One of them said that
Jason Ryznar (#74) verbally comitted to Maine last
night. Any word out there yet?

FYI - the USA U-18 Development Team will be back in
Maine in December to play D-3 Bowdoin on 12/8 and D-3
Colby on 12/9. For those of us who won't make it
Boston to see the BU game on Friday the 8th, it might
make for a good three night hockey combo capped by BC
at the Alfond on Sunday.

Go Blue!

Carl
