There art two UNH hockey players on a short hop from Boston to Portland
Me. They are sitting together when a Maine Hockey player sits down next
to them in the aisle seat. He slips his shoes off and makes himself
comfortable. The UNH player next to the window asks to be let out to
get a soda. The Maine player offers to get it for him. While he is gone
the UNH player spits in one of the shoes he left behind. Upon his
return he gives up the soda and settles in for the short flight. Soon
the second UNH player makes the same request and the Maine player again
offers to get the soda for him. This UNH guy spits in the other shoe.
The rest of the flight goes quietly. When they land are getting ready
to leave the Maine player slips his shoes back on and instantly knows
what happened. He slumps down and in a disappointed voice asks "Why do
we have to take these school rivalries to the personal level, why do we
need to keep perpetrating these childish pranks? Why do we need to spit
in each others shoes and piss in each others sodas? "
