The significance of PK's contract is that he will receive $8.5 million in the
second year of the contract, and that it is only a two-year contract. Disney
had offered $7 million a year for seven years, which would have tied him up
for a very long time. After his two-year contract is up (actually, a 1=-year
contract, or a little longer), he'll be back on the market--and presumably a
very valuable commodity indeed.
